***Important: If you have been in an accident involving litigation, please read the ‘Med-Pay for Personal Injury Section’ Below!
For chiropractic care, we can accept the following:
-
Self-Pay: Cash, checks, major credit cards including American Express, Visa, Discover, Mastercard via Square credit card processing
-
HSA/FSA: Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts (Note: Please inform the front desk should you need an itemized statement/Superbill for HSA/FSA reimbursement
-
Some Insurance Providers: This has become much less common in our experience, however keep in mind that if your health plan is an HMO which is a plan “managed” by a third party i.e. Kaiser, it would not cover out-of-network providers such as our clinic. If you have a PPO Insurance Plan, we are happy to verify your plan coverage and discuss with you prior to your Initial Appointment. Please allow two business days for Insurance verification. We understand Insurance can be complex and are here to answer any questions you may have!
-
Medicare: Standard Medicare covers medically necessary care for flare-ups or new injuries resulting in spinal pain. It does not cover treatment of the extremities, nor does it cover Exams (but requires Exams before treatment). If your Medicare plan is “assigned” or “managed” by a third party company i.e. Kaiser, it will likely not cover anything outside of its own network, however we are always happy to check for you to be sure. Should you have a Standard Medicare Plan or Advantage Plan, it is likely to cover your care at our clinic so long as medically necessary. Some patients have Secondary policies, which may cover portions of care which Medicare denies/does not cover. Supplemental Medicare Insurance however follows Medicare guidelines and therefore only covers additional amounts for treatment which Medicare already covers. Some plans may cover your Medicare deductible (varies by year) and some may cover co-insurance amounts for Spinal Adjustments. Please allow two business days for Insurance verification. We understand Insurance can be complex and are here to answer any questions you may have!
-
MedPay for Personal Injury Claims: If you have been in a motor vehicle accident or any accident involving a vehicle (struck as a pedestrian, etc.), please check with your car insurance policy or AAA to verify if you have a “Medical Payments/Med-Pay” feature on the policy prior to scheduling an appointment; Med-Pay will often cover your care as you go whether or not you are found to be at fault for the accident. Rates for Personal Injury treatment vary from Out-of-Pocket/Self-Pay and Standard Insurance (“Usual and Customary” rates).
-
Personal Injury Liens: Please note we *cannot accept any cases on Lien at this time* but please call to discuss your specific situation to clarify the cost estimate of your treatments prior to your Initial Appointment.
-
Laser Therapy: At this time, we can only accept Self-Payment/Out-of-Pocket, HSA/FSA for laser therapy, most insurance does not cover it unfortunately.
- Massage Therapy: Payment is made directly to our massage therapists.
As always, please call us with any questions! (510) 545-3465
